Bringing the Pollinators Back – Love bees?
Here at Irelands Beeswax Wraps we are crazy about bees and we are an official business supporter of the All-Ireland Pollinator Plan . There are 98 bee species in Ireland to love. Over a third of these are threatened with extinction and we have three very rare bumblebees – the great yellow bumblebee, the shrill carder bee and the red shanked carder bee. They are made of clay, compost and wildflower seeds.
We all want to help the bees!!
Our cold Irish spring has hindered growth.
The seeds need a bit more help this year…
-Soak for a few hours before throwing
-Put on cleared land, don’t bury them
-Keep weed free while they get established
-Water them in dry weather
This will help bring the bees back by providing them with good habitat & food and inspire a sustainable food system for the future.
